How To Prepare for your Photo Session

Your engagement photos will be cherished for a lifetime!

Your future children will want to look back at these memories, so consider this as you prepare for your shoot...

Be yourself: Select outfits that reflect your personality while ensuring both of you are comfortable.

This comfort will be evident in your photos, making you both more relaxed and joyful during the session.

(Quick tip) Fitted clothing can enhance a woman's figure and highlight a man’s physique, but it may also reveal imperfections we prefer to conceal!

Avoid matching exactly:  Instead, aim to complement each other.

For Women:  Flattering short flare or long flowing dresses are excellent choices for engagement photos.

For Men:  White or off-white khakis look great in photos, and dressy black pants are a timeless staple!

Consider your location:  Where will your photoshoot take place? Dress accordingly!

Season: In the fall, layers work beautifully and make transitioning between outfits seamless.

Accessories like jewelry, scarves, or hats can add flair, but be sure not to overdo it!

Props:  Limit yourself to just one or two; the focus should remain on you both!

Outfits:  Consider having both a dressy and a casual option; I recommend starting with the casual one.

Remember that fashion trends change! You don’t want to look back and think, "What was I wearing?!"

Opt for classic, timeless pieces for your shoot. 

Avoid: Large patterns, bold stripes, or logos! Remember, you and your fiancé are the stars of these images.

Don’t forget to polish your engagement ring; show off that bling!

Recommendations:  If possible, treat yourself to a nice hairdo, manicured nails, makeup, and eyebrow grooming for the shoot.

Being on time for your photoshoot is crucial!

Good lighting makes all the difference, and we want to capitalize on it.

The best times of day for photography?

Just before sunrise or sunset. Not a requirement, but the lighting during these hours is soft, romantic, and golden!
